      10 former Arizona high school football standouts have been drafted in the first round of the NFL draft since 2000, but entering the 2019 NFL draft, none had?been picked since the 2015 NFL draft.

      That is no longer the case.

      Former Chandler High standout N'Keal Harry?ended the drought for Arizona high school players being drafted in the first round of the NFL draft when the New England Patriots took with with the No. 32 overall selection in 2019.

      Harry shined during his college career at ASU.

      Harry finished with 73 receptions for 1,088 yards and nine touchdowns last season at Arizona State.

      Recent NFL first-round draft picks from Arizona

      Andrus Peat was taken with the No. 13 overall pick of the 2015 draft, becoming the 20th and most recent former Arizona high school product before Harry?to be picked in the first round of the NFL draft.

      Peat, who was picked by the New Orleans Saints out of Stanford,?was the fifth former Arizona high school football player to be picked in the first round since 2011.

      Chandler High's Dion Jordan went No. 3 overall to the Miami Dolphins?in 2013. Scottsdale Chaparral's Taylor Lewan went to the Tennessee Titans at No. 11 overall in 2014.

      In 2011, Chandler High's Cameron Jordan went to the Saints at No. 24 overall and Glendale Apollo High's Prince Amukamara went to the New York Giants at No. 19 overall.

      From 1968 to 1999, Arizona only had 10 former high school football players drafted in the first round.

      Arizona's first NFL draft picks in the first round?

      Former Phoenix Union standout Fred Carr went fifth overall to the Green Bay Packers in 1968. He was joined that year by former Avondale Agua Fria standout Bill Lueck, who also went to the Packers at No. 26 overall.
