Doug Madoski, who has led Scottsdale Community College's football team since 2006, was officially approved this week by the Deer Valley Unified School District to be Glendale Mountain Ridge's head football coach.

On April 26, Mountain Ridge Athletics announced on social media that Madoski is the new coach.

Madoski served as head coach at Scottsdale Community College the past 12 seasons.

“I am excited for the opportunity to turn around a football program that is in the community in which I reside," Madoski said in a school release. "I have been following Mountain Ridge High School athletics and looking forward to helping players and coaches find success.

"Success is not just determined in the wins and losses of a season, it is also determined in school and college. I have a 98 percent placement for my student-athletes for the next level. I am proud of that.? Athletes have stories to tell and I would like the see them tell their story with us."

Madoski replaces Vince Ciliberti, who in early February was arrested in Mesa on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted sexual contact with a minor, according to Maricopa County Superior Court documents.

The district placed Ciliberti on administrative leave and he was dismissed as coach.

Madoski has led Scottsdale Community College's football team since 2006. The Maricopa County Community College District decided to eliminate football this year, which opened up coaching options. He was also the defensive coordinator at SCC.

Last year's SCC team went 7-4, reaching the Valley of the Sun Bowl, losing to Blinn College, 23-20. The Artichokes started 4-0, scoring more than 40 points each game.

His SCC bio states that his 2011 team finished eighth in the nation in total defense, 15th in rushing defense and fifth in passing defense. SCC's offense that year was ninth in total offense and third in passing offense.
